“Be still, and know that I am God”

My dear granddaughter, Riley Donato loves the Lord and loves reading and writing stories and poetry. The other day she showed me this poem that she wrote. I thought immediately about sharing it with my church friends and family.

“Be still, and know that I am God” - Psalm 46:10

A quote most everyone’s heard

But only few truly listen.

It’s a reminder to not fret about this, or about that

Yet your over here stressing because of a broken thermostat

It’s a reminder to just chill; take a breath

Even if you’re near death

Just remember that it’s God’s timing

Even if it doesn’t seem good to you,

I promise it is the perfect choice

Stop complaining and rejoice

God cares for you and for me

That thought should let you feel free

God is sovereign and you are not

It’s honestly a good thing for us because I know if we were Him, we would screw up… A LOT!
