Wednesday Evening Bible Studies

Updated: Sep 4, 2023

Last evening, 10/24,2018, we began a new Wednesday evening Bible Study. Do we need another Bible Study? Do we really need mid-week Bible Studies? You bet we do!

Sunday mornings we begin with our Adult Bible Study, at 9:15. Currently we are going through “The Characters of the Bible.” This kind of study simply attempts to find out who the character(s) were and follow them through the Scriptures, Verse by Verse. Understanding the character(s) found within the text will not only reveal who they are but will help us to understand the passage much better. Studying them will show us how the Lord uses the various personalities and should unveil why He chose these characters to carry out His purpose.

Following this study, we have a sweet time of fellowship as we look forward to Pastor Ted’s Verse by Verse, exegetical preaching, currently in the Book of Acts, the bridge between the Gospels and the Epistles. His expositional teaching not only provides great clarification of the Scriptures, but instruction as to how we should apply the lesson(s) to our lives and the lives of others. What does that have to do with having a Wednesday evening study? I am glad you asked.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 " And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."

We should leave Sunday’s lessons, feeling exuberated and spiritually fed. However, 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV) tells us “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” Sorry to say, you and I are among those he is looking to devour. As PT said last night, Satan is the ruler of this world and the world and he hates you and I because he first hated our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

By Wednesday evening we have struggled with many issues thrown at us by the world, our friends, and even family as PT explained. We are ready for a well needed rejuvenation. Yes, we do need a mid-week Bible Study that is as expositorily taught as our Sunday morning Adult Bible Study and Pastor’s sermons.

COME – JUST AS YOU ARE TO WORSHIP AND HEAR THE WORD OF GOD BOLDLY AND TRUTHFULLY PREACHED.
